David Clifford, MD

Dr. Clifford’s research and clinical focus lies in the management of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and the neurological complications of HIV/AIDS. He led the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke-supported Neurologic AIDS Research Consortium and is an investigator for Washington University’s AIDS Clinical Trials Unit.

Dr. Clifford earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and history from Southwestern University and his medical degree from Washington University. He remained at the university for his internal medicine and neurology residencies and neurology fellowship before joining the faculty in 1980.
